The Piraeus Startup Accelerator in Xanthi, Ioannina, Patras, and Athens has been designed to provide new and existing startups with the opportunity to develop and expand into both local and international markets.

The programme is implemented in collaboration with the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Hub “Point of Synergy” and the Archimedes Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens as innovation partner. It focuses on fostering an entrepreneurial culture in the Greek regions, with particular emphasis on the wider area of Thrace (Xanthi, Komotini, Alexandroupoli), Ioannina, and Patras, while also being delivered in Attica.

Through this programme, startups, researchers, and members of local communities can acquire the tools and expertise needed to transform their ideas or technologies into sustainable business solutions (Minimum Viable Products – MVPs). In addition, the programme provides access to a network of specialised professionals and companies that support young entrepreneurs in their professional journey.

Participants will receive:

Specialized training

At least 20 hours of training focused on developing a business idea into a startup and creating MVPs (e.g. selecting co-founders, product design, fundraising, legal and tax considerations, core marketing principles for startups, and presenting prototypes to investors – investor pitch).

Strategic guidance

From experienced mentors across fields such as technology, marketing, business development, and the banking sector.

Networking opportunities

With investors, organizations, and other startups.

Financial reward

As part of a competition offering a total prize pool of €5,000 per team for the development and testing of the MVP.
