Piraeus and the University of Piraeus signed a Memorandum of Cooperation and jointly launched the first “MBA in Sustainability powered by Piraeus” graduate programme, specializing in Sustainable Development and offered free of charge. The programme, coordinated by the Department of Business Administration at the University of Piraeus, began in October 2024, has a small class size (20–25 students), and is aimed at top-performing graduates of Greek universities.
The Master’s Programme lasts three semesters. It begins in October of each year; classes are held daily, and attendance is mandatory. It includes simulations and seminars, as well as company visits, offering participants the opportunity for continuous learning and networking. It focuses primarily on innovation, entrepreneurship, linking the knowledge imparted to the actual needs of Greek businesses and the economy.
The Memorandum of Cooperation between Piraeus and the University of Piraeus includes the contribution by specialized Bank executives to the academic curriculum, support for research, and the opportunity to gain work experience. In addition, the University’s academic and administrative staff offer their services pro bono.
In this way, the Bank’s initiatives to support young people aspiring to enter the job market with confidence are reinforced, by investing in quality education as a key factor for sustainable development.
It is the Bank’s vision for the Master’s Programme to become an incubator of successful future leaders who will spearhead the development of policies that combine environmental management, economic resilience, and social responsibility, by implementing comprehensive Sustainable Development strategies.
