Piraeus supports accessibility and engagement with culture for the new generation by designing and implementing educational and social initiatives in collaboration with cultural organizations across the country. The goal is to promote creative and critical thinking among young people, as well as to cultivate their skills.
As part of its long-standing collaboration with the Greek National Opera, Piraeus Bank sponsors intercultural education initiatives and, for the 6th consecutive year, supports the educational programme “Third Bell Opera”.
“Third Bell Opera” programme introduces elementary school teachers and students to contemporary musical theatre practices, with the aim of enhancing their creative and critical thinking and developing their skills. The educational initiative culminates each June with a performance of the musical theatre piece created by the students. For the 2025–2026 artistic season, the programme continues and expands beyond Athens to cities in the regions, such as Thessaloniki and Ioannina.
Furthermore, Piraeus is a Sponsor of the Greek National Opera’s Intercultural Education Initiatives for the 2025–2026 season. Through the Intercultural Orchestra, the Intercultural Choir, and the Co-OPERAtive programme, intercultural artistic communities that promote artistic education and inclusion are fostered, harnessing opera as a central artistic medium.
Additionally, in 2023, the Bank supported the educational programme Activities for the Whole Family, which included ten experiential arts workshops involving children and parents. As part of the programme, the workshops “Metamorphoses”, “Lyrical Short Films”, “The Magic Pillows – Sleepover”, and “Dad… Shall We Dance”? were held, benefiting more than 600 children and their families.
