The Action "Piraeus Bank Loans in cooperation with the European Investment Bank" is intended to finance SMEs and midcaps (up to 3000 employees) for working capital and/or investment loans with preferential terms through resources of the European Investment Bank (EIB) with the contribution of the Structural Funds.

Eligibility criteria

The action offers you finance for working capital or medium-long term investment loans. The loan amount ranges from €20,000 to €12.5 million and can be used to cover expenses for:

  • Equipment
  • Research & development
  • Building works
  • Corporate financial commitments
  • Trade activities and raw materials

Loan Duration: 4 to 8 years

Working Capital

Loan term: 2 years minimum.

Repayment method

  • In 3-monthly, 6-monthly or annual instalments that pay interest and capital.

Eligible Beneficiaries

  • SMEs which employ up to 250 employees and have up to €50 million annual turnover or total assets of €43 million
  • Midcap enterprises employing between 250-3000 employees irrespective of turnover and total assets.
  • Enterprises that are located, operate and invest in the Greek territory
  • Companies that are independent and do not belong in the public sector, wider public sector or a local government organisation with over 5,000 citizens and less than €10 million budget
  • The enterprise must not be declared as a firm in difficulty

Jobs for Youth Initiative

Through this initiative companies supporting the employment of young people (age range 15-25 years) with one of the following ways, can obtain financing at more favorable terms. Specifically:

  • If during the last six months the company has hired or intends to hire within six months at least one new employee (for SMEs) or at least 5 employees if it is a midcap
  • If the company provides the possibility of training or internships to young people
  • If the business has signed a contract with a technological or scientific institution targeting at youth employment (eg possibility of internships during the summer months)
