Top European Award for Corporate Social Responsibility, ESG and Digital Banking in Greece
Piraeus has received three prestigious awards at the Euromoney Awards for Excellence 2025, marking significant international recognition of the Bank’s strategic focus on responsible, sustainable, and innovative banking:
- Europe’s Best Bank for Corporate Social Responsibility
- Greece’s Best Bank for ESG
- Greece’s Best Digital Bank
Piraeus is the first Greek bank to be recognised at a European level in the Corporate Social Responsibility category by Euromoney – a distinction that underscores the importance and impact of its social strategy across the European banking landscape.
This award reflects Piraeus’ comprehensive and measurable approach to CSR, as implemented through its flagship program, EQUALL – For a Society of Equal People. EQUALL constitutes a program for social action, with initiatives that promote equality, social inclusion, and the creation of opportunities for all, with a focus on youth, women, children, and vulnerable groups.
The distinction as Greece’s Best Bank for ESG reaffirms Piraeus’ commitment to sustainability, transparency, and responsible operation. Meanwhile, being named Greece’s Best Digital Bank highlights the Bank’s continued investment in technological innovation and its transformation of the banking experience.
Christos Megalou, CEO of Piraeus, stated: “This international recognition by Euromoney is yet another affirmation of our strategic commitment to responsible banking, sustainable development, and technological innovation. It is an honour that reflects the systematic effort and dedication of all Piraeus people and reinforces our commitment to continue creating value for society, our customers, employees, and shareholders.”
