Piraeus Bank Joins National Efforts to Prevent the Spread of Covid-19

PIRAEUS BANK JOINS NATIONAL EFFORTS TO PREVENT THE SPREAD OF COVID-19

Piraeus Bank is actively contributing to the prevention of the spread of COVID-19, in Greece. Since the beginning of the crisis, we have operated responsively and in full alignment with the guidelines of the Authorities, by adhering strictly and consistently to the recommendations of the Ministry of Health and the Hellenic National Public Health Organisation (EODY). Our top priority has been the safety of our customers, employees and all its stakeholders, while safeguarding the stability of the Greek economy and society.

WHAT WE ARE DOING FOR OUR CUSTOMERS

We are encouraging our customers to use our alternative and digital channels, such as winbank, our ebanking platform, as well as mobile banking and phone banking. In fact, we are promoting social distancing, which is necessary to contain the pandemic, whilst continuing to offer a convenient way to safely conduct transactions 24/7, without the need to use public transport or visit our branches.

We employ state-of-the-art cyber security systems, in order to secure the transactions of our clients.

Please find here more about digital transactions.

We stand by our customers affected directly or indirectly by the spread of COVID-19, offering targeted solutions, through available tools.

WHAT WE DO FOR OUR EMPLOYEES

In line with the recommendations to reduce large gatherings and increase social distancing, Piraeus Bank has asked the majority of employees to work from home, with the exception of those, whose job description requires strict physical presence. In these cases, we have reduced the attendance to the most necessary, with people working on rotation and always by taking all appropriate security measures. With less employees using public transport to go to their jobs and less crowding in our branches and offices, we are reducing the risk for everyone, including the Bank employees who come to work to ensure the Bank's business continuity, which is essential for the smooth running of the economy.

We reviewed early our travel policy, suspending international and domestic travel.

We avoid meetings in offices and opting instead for teleconferencing or videoconferencing.

We are providing special leaves to employees belonging to vulnerable groups as defined by EODY, as well as to parents of pupils, within the framework of their facilitation and application of the instructions of the Greek authorities.

WHAT WE DO FOR OUR OFFICES AND BRANCHES

As part of our coordinated effort to prevent the spread of coronavirus, we have launched a series of preventive measures to limit the spread of COVID-19.

  • We have applied a system of controlled and limited customer access to our branches.
  • We have implemented additional cleaning and sanitization routines, using strong disinfectants and antibacterial cleaners at work places.
  • We distribute liquid antiseptics in all premises and branches.
  • We disinfect according to the highest standards.
  • Detailed information and videos, supplied by EODY have been uploaded to the branches and are updated when necessary.

We have activated our Business Continuity Plan in all our operations, ensuring uninterrupted service to our customers. At the same time, we are monitoring relevant developments to be able to review our plans and take additional action if necessary, to contribute to the national effort to limit the spread of COVID-19.

Understanding and addressing the impact of COVID-19 spread in our society and economy, along with the safety of our customers and employees, remain our top priority.
