How do I submit my application?
The online application is completed through Piraeus e-banking and Piraeus app, provided you are a registered user. If you do not have e-banking credentials, you can easily and quickly obtain them by following the steps found here.
See the detailed steps of the e-card process:
- a) Through the menu of Piraeus e-banking / Cards / Debit / e-card - Issue debit card or alternatively Purchases & Applications / e-card / Issue debit card.
b) Through Piraeus app / Cards / e-card / Debit cards / Issue card. - Choose the product based on your needs, using the specially designed tool.
- Confirm the details requested and complete the issuance.
- The bank proceeds with the issuance and personalization of your card within 5 business days.
- Then, the card is sent deactivated by mail to the address you have chosen.
Immediately after receiving your card, you can activate it using one of the following methods:
- Through Piraeus e-banking or Piraeus app
- Through a Piraeus ATM
- By phone, calling +30 210 38 98 989 (from Greece or abroad)
Then, you set the PIN you want via Piraeus e-banking or Piraeus app, by selecting:
- Cards - My Debit Cards - Related Services - Set/Change PIN and the debit card for which you want to set the PIN via Piraeus e-banking, or
- Cards – select the Debit Card for which you want to set a new PIN – Settings – Set/Change PIN, via Piraeus app.
After activating your card, make a transaction (withdrawal or balance inquiry) at any ATM, and then you can use it for online purchases or in physical stores, payments, and cash withdrawals from ATMs throughout Greece and abroad.
Note: The above does not apply to Virtual Debit Visa.

What documents are required?
A) If you are already an updated Bank’s customer, you do not need any documents. Just follow the steps described in question 2.
B) If you are not a Bank’s customer, you first need to become one through Piraeus e-banking / Piraeus app, and you only need your TAXISnet credentials and to have updated your details in the National Communication Registry (notify.gov.gr). Alternatively, you can visit a branch.
