How do I install the Piraeus app?

Download the Piraeus app from App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android) or App Gallery (Huawei) by typing Piraeus app and click Get (iOS) or Install (Android) or Install (Huawei).

I forgot / blocked my Piraeus e-banking password

If you have activated the SMS extraPIN feature and you know your username but don't remember your password, you can reissue your password by starting the process from here.

In any case, password reissuance continues to be provided through the bank's branch network.

How to add a card

Add your card to Samsung Wallet by following a few simple steps:

Via the Samsung Wallet app

  • Download the Samsung Wallet app from Galaxy Store or Google Play or open it if it is already installed on your Galaxy smartphone
  • Follow the instructions to add a card
  • Verify your identity using the Piraeus app

Your card is now ready for transactions with Samsung Pay.

How to make payments

For your Samsung Pay transactions, all you need is your Galaxy device.

Make quick and easy contactless payments in stores by holding your Galaxy smartphone close to the POS terminal.

You can also make payments within merchants’ apps and sites by selecting Samsung Pay as your payment method.

How are my payments protected?

You can safely make purchases by adding your cards to your Samsung Wallet as an encrypted virtual account number is assigned for each card you add on each device, so its actual number remains secure. Your actual card number is not stored on the device or shared with merchants.

Please note that the receipt issued after each successful Samsung Pay transaction you make will display the virtual account number.

Is there a charge for using Samsung Pay?

No, there is no charge from Piraeus Bank for the registration of its cards in Samsung Wallet or their use for Samsung Pay transactions.

Can I add my Piraeus card to Samsung Wallet?

All Piraeus cards (debit, credit, prepaid reloadable) for individual or business/corporate cardholders can be added to Samsung Pay.

How do I add a card to Samsung Wallet?

Via the Samsung Wallet app:

  1. Download the Samsung Wallet app from Galaxy Store or Google Play on your Galaxy device, if it is not already installed.
  2. Open the Samsung Wallet app, tap the Add “+” icon in the top-right corner, and then select “Payment cards”.
  3. Scan your card using your device’s camera, or tap your card or hold it close to your Samsung Galaxy smartphone so that its details are entered automatically. Alternatively, add card details manually and then tap “Next”.
  4. Read Piraeus Bank’s terms of use and, if you agree, select "Agree".
  5. Select “Open banking app” and log in to the Piraeus app.
  6. On the card verification screen, select “Verify”. Then, verify your identity using your quick login.

Your card is now active in Samsung Wallet and ready to be used for payments with Samsung Pay.

If you wish to add more Piraeus cards to your Samsung Wallet, you will need to repeat the process for each card.

I haven’t received my physical card yet, can I add it to Samsung Wallet?

No. You need to have received your card and activated it before you can add it.

How do I remove a card from Samsung Wallet?

Your cards are removed via the Samsung Wallet app. In case you wish to remove a card and then add it again, you will need to follow the process of adding a card from the beginning.

Can I see my recent transactions with Samsung Pay?

Yes. You can view recent transactions in the Wallet app, for each of your cards, on the device with which they were made. For full transaction history, you can visit Piraeus e-banking or the Piraeus app.

Can I make a contactless transaction with Samsung Pay without my device being connected to the Internet?

Yes, an internet connection is not necessary to make a contactless transaction with Samsung Pay.

How do I know that my contactless transaction with Samsung Pay was successful?

Each Samsung Pay transaction is considered complete upon issuance of a receipt, where provided, for the amount of the transaction that occurred.

How do I choose which card I want to use with Samsung Pay?

Do I keep the benefits of my card when I pay with Samsung Pay?

Yes, you can retain the benefits provided by each card you use.

Can I pay in interest-free installments on my card via Samsung Pay?

With Samsung Pay, you can pay in up to 12 interest-free installments on your Piraeus Visa credit card, at merchants in Greece that offer special interest-free installment programs.

Can I make contactless transactions at ATMs with Samsung Pay?

Yes, if your card allows ATM transactions, you can use Samsung Pay to make contactless cash withdrawals and balance inquiries at ATMs that have contactless transaction functionality.

Is there an amount limit for Samsung Pay transactions?

No, you can transact up to your card limit.

I can’t complete adding my card to Samsung Wallet, what can I do?

If for any reason you are unable to complete the process of adding your card, make sure the Piraeus app is installed and activated on your device.

In case you still cannot complete the process of adding the card, you can contact Customer Service at 210 3288000.

The physical card that I have added to Samsung Pay has been lost/stolen, what should I do?

In case of theft or loss of your card, please contact Customer Service immediately at 210 3288000. Your physical card will be replaced and as soon as you receive the new one and activate it, Samsung Pay will be automatically updated without any further action on your part.

Samsung Pay automatic updates exclude debit cards that are reissued due to loss, theft or damage from the bank's branches or call center, which will require you to go through the process of adding the new card to Samsung Pay.

I have requested/I am waiting for my card to be replaced, what should I do until the new physical card arrives? How will I make transactions with it?

In case a card registered in Samsung Pay is replaced, either due to expiration or upon your request due to theft, loss or damage, transactions via Samsung Pay may continue to be performed with it, for a limited period of time, even if the new physical card has not been activated yet. This period is defined by the Bank and is provided for your convenience and does not replace your obligation to activate the new physical card. This period is not provided for debit cards reissued due to theft, loss or damage, at Piraeus Bank branches or via call center.

My Samsung device is lost/stolen, what should I do?
