Total currency conversion charges for cards transactions
According to the institutional framework set by the European Union (EU Regulation 518/2019), the total amount of currency conversion charges for all card transactions (credit, debit & prepaid cards) must be expressed as a surcharge on the most recent available exchange rate of the euro, against foreign currencies published by the European Central Bank (ECB), by all payment service providers, providing a currency conversion service in all transactions (ATM or POS) in the same way.
Thus, every time you make a transaction (either purchase or cash withdrawal via ATM) with your card, within EU Region in another foreign currency other than Euro, you can easily and clearly compare currency conversion charges that are notified to you at the ATM or POS, with the charges applicable by your Bank, in order you could decide and choose which way you want the currency conversion for your transaction.
Aiming to a better service for its customers, Piraeus Bank, provides the same information for additional currencies outside the European Union
The table is updated daily at 12 pm, except Saturdays, Sundays and other banking holidays. Before 12 pm, will provide information on the prices of the previous working day.
The surcharge rates shown above may differ from the final surcharge rates applied to the currency conversion transaction, as the conversion is based on the reference exchange rate, as applicable on the day of the transaction’s clearing, which may differ from the actual date of the transaction.
The conversion of foreign currency transactions into Euro (€), of Piraeus Bank’s Visa & Mastercard® cards (Credit, Debit, Prepaid) in the currencies included in the table, is performed according to Bank’s reference rates.
