Download the Piraeus app from App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android) or App Gallery (Huawei) by typing Piraeus app and click Get (iOS) or Install (Android) or Install (Huawei).

I forgot / blocked my Piraeus e-banking password

If you have activated the SMS extraPIN feature and you know your username but don't remember your password, you can reissue your password by starting the process from here.

In any case, password reissuance continues to be provided through the bank's branch network.

How much money can I send with a remittance?

You can send money via Piraeus e-banking and Piraeus app:

  • In Greece up to €150,000 per transaction
  • Abroad up to €50,000 per transaction

With a remittance from Piraeus Bank branches, you can send money with no amount limit abroad and in Greece.

How do I send a remittance?

To send a remittance via Piraeus e-banking:

  • Select the menu Transfers/Money Transfers > Transfer to another bank/Remittance.
  • Fill in the relevant fields with the guidance of the system.
  • Check and confirm the data and expenses incurred.
  • Submit your order. The account you have chosen will be debited with the amount of the remittance and the relevant fees during the execution of your order.

Piraeus e-banking registration

To send a remittance from your mobile phone via Piraeus app:

  • Select Transact > To account.
  • Fill in the fields with the guidance of the system. At each step, you can check the data before confirming your order.
  • Complete your transaction. The account you have chosen will be charged with the amount of the remittance and the relevant fees during the execution of your order.

To send a remittance via a Piraeus Bank branch declare the details of the remittance to the branchThe clerk will ask you for the recipient's details:

  • Bank account and bank
  • The beneficiary’s full name or company name

Can I send an instant credit transfer/remittance anywhere in the world and have the beneficiary credited within a few seconds?

No. Instant credit transfers/remittances are only available for credit transfers/remittances within Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA).

What happens if an instant credit transfer/remittance is not executed within 10 seconds?

The payment is not completed, and you may initiate a new transaction using a different priority.

Can I verify the beneficiary’s details before sending a credit transfer/remittance?

You can prior verify the beneficiary’s details, regardless of the credit transfer/remittance priority, before submitted your orders, provided that the credit transfer/remittance is within the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA). The verification result is informative and is provided by the beneficiary’s bank if the bank supports the service.

When is the beneficiary verification performed for a scheduled credit transfer/remittance within the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA)?

Whether the credit transfer/remittance is scheduled for a future date or is set up as a recurring transaction on a specific day each month, the beneficiary verification takes place when you enter the beneficiary details, not on the execution date.

How is the beneficiary verification performed?

The verification is performed by checking whether the IBAN matches the beneficiary’s full name/ business name or other identifier details (e.g. Tax ID).

How will I be informed about the verification result?

Once you fill in the beneficiary’s details, a verification check is performed. Within a few seconds, your bank informs you of the verification result received from the beneficiary’s bank.

The verification result can be:

  • Beneficiary Match: The beneficiary’s bank verifies the matching of the IBAN with the beneficiary customer you submitted.
  • Close Beneficiary Match: The beneficiary’s bank verifies close matching of the IBAN with the beneficiary customer you submitted.
  • No Beneficiary Match: Τhe beneficiary’s bank does not verify the matching of the IBAN with the beneficiary customer you submitted.

There is also the possibility that the verification cannot be completed due to technical issues or because the beneficiary’s bank does not provide this service (Verification check not possible).

 

Is there a cost for the beneficiary verification?

No, it is free of charge.

What should I do if the beneficiary’s details are not verified?

If the verification check of the IBAN with the beneficiary’s name/ other identifying elements is not verified, you have the option whether to proceed with or to cancel your transaction in order to contact the beneficiary and confirm his/ her details.
