Renewal and extension of Piraeus Bank's Contract Farming Deal on Canned Peachwith "Venus Growers A.C." Venus Growers


Piraeus Bank, in collaboration with the "Venus Growers A.C.", proceeded to a renewal and extension of the Contract Farming program for clingstone peach producers in the prefecture of Imathia, following last year's highly successful program. It was the first Contract Farming program of Piraeus Bank that was successfully concluded and gave new perspectives on stable and sustainable of the primary sector.

The funding proposal for canned peaches contract farming is essentially intended to help rationalise production organisation and financially support the entire production process, from the producer to product processing and selling by the said company.

The "Venus Growers Agricultural Cooperative" has facilities in Veria and Alexandria, in the Prefecture of Imathia, and operates in the fruit processing and standardisation sector for the Greek and international markets.

The Venus Growers A.C." is the first agricultural cooperative export business in Greece. Exports account for 97% of its turnover and destined to 45 countries and mainly to the most demanding markets of Japan and the UK. The Venus Growers A.C." is among the leading global players of the canned fruit market in terms of product quality and quantity.

The Program covers the entire crops production, supply and manufacturing chain by supporting, in an organised manner, the mutually beneficial collaboration between producers and the Cooperative.
