Renewal and extension of Oriental Tobaccos Contract Farming Collaboration between Piraeus Bank and “Missirian S.A.”

Piraeus Bank, in collaboration with “Missirian S.A.”, has proceeded to the renewal and extension of the Contract Farming program intended for tobacco producers in the Prefectures of Kavala, Serres, Drama, Pieria and Imathia, after last year’s highly successful collaboration.

The funding proposal for tobacco Contract Farming is essentially intended to help rationalize the organization and financially support the entire production process, from the producer to product processing and selling by the said company.

“Missirian S.A.” has its facilities on the Kavala-Drama national road and is active in oriental tobacco leaves processing and trading. The company disposes of two production plants, one in Kavala and one in Bulgaria, while it is mainly export-oriented. It covers 35% of Greek production, being therefore one of the largest companies in the Greek market.

Missirian S.A.” intervenes in all product stages, from production to processing and placing on the market, aiming at ensuring its high quality.

Through the specific Piraeus Bank Contract Farming Program, the producer is provided with the required liquidity at highly competitive terms, exactly when he needs such liquidity, while payment of the production agreed to be delivered to the company is guaranteed.

The Program covers the entire crops production and supply chain by supporting, in an organized manner, the mutually beneficial collaboration between producers and the company.

This new collaboration attests to the firm will of Piraeus Bank to support and encourage any sound productive effort in the economy sector.
