New vegetable seedlings Contract Farming Agreement between Piraeus Bank and “Agris S.A”



Piraeus Bank, in collaboration with “Agris S.A”, has initiated a new Contract Farming Program intended for vegetables growers in the Prefecture of Lasithi.

The funding proposal for vegetables Contract Farming is essentially intended to help rationalize the organization and financially support the entire production process, from the grower to product processing and selling by the company in foreign markets.

The company is exclusively focused on horticulture and its objective is the development, distribution and support of varieties, the production of transplanted and grafted seedlings, the provision of cultivation technical support services, and the management of contracts for the production and distribution of products.

Agris S.A. has production facilities and demonstration centers in Kleidi - Imathia, Crete and the Peloponnese and subsidiaries in Bulgaria and Romania. The company operates in the entire horticulture Balkan region, as well as in Hungary.

The business framework of Agris’s contract farming is bounded by the recognition of the markets’ need for stable supplywith specific commercial products, as well as quality standards and the orientation of Greek production towards products with comparative competitive advantage.
