Deutsche Bank, one of the world's largest banks and clearing bank for most payments made in euro internationally, awarded Piraeus Bank, for the fifth consecutive year, the Quality Award 2007 "Straight-Through Processing (STP) Excellence Award" for the Bank's euro payments sent all over the world. It was the continuous improvement of its infrastructures that led Piraeus Bank win the respective award for dollar payments as well and which brought Piraeus Bank to the position of being the only Greek bank to be awarded both distinctions in the same year.
At the same time JP Morgan and the Bank of New York rewarded Piraeus Bank for the automation rate (99%) achieved in its sent payments.
In an environment where information quality, execution speed and immediate response capacity are key features for the conclusion of a payment on an international level, Piraeus Bank and its people, as the awards show, responded successfully to the challenge.
